January–February 2026. Members of vulnerable people participated in the Artist-in-Residence program organized by the “Me to Ne” Project Committee in Nanbu, Tottori Prefecture in Japan. We developed workshop programs for the “After-School Art Club” that they organize in empty classrooms at two elementary schools after school. Together with the children, we referred to things that, though invisible to the eye, felt familiar or existed within their hearts as “friends.” Under the theme “Invisible Friends,” we drew pictures while engaging in dialogue. We have now compiled these stories and words, and—in true “vulnerable people ” style—we are releasing them as a picture book featuring text in both English and Japanese.
